Manage website content, in collaboration with relevant team members including timely updates of existing content and generation of new content. Lead proactive content creation across digital and print platforms, including the website and social media, to effectively market HGHI’s events, fellowships, and programs. Work with HGHI’s leadership in the development of the communications and outreach plan. Support the Faculty Director and Executive Director in developing and executing a strategic communications framework that positions HGHI as a “go to” place for global health resources and knowledge. S/he will have fluency in these formats as well as the willingness to learn new tools and innovate. The ideal candidate is a well-organized and collaborative self-starter who is passionate about storytelling and translating complex topics into accessible narratives in multiple formats. This position will lead HGHI’s overall communications both internally and externally and oversee public-facing communications events (virtual and in-person). The Communications and Events Manager will work across programmatic portfolios at HGHI to increase the visibility of global health work across Harvard and maximize HGHI’s reach and engagement with diverse audiences around the world. This position is responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy for HGHI and the management of HGHI’s flagship events. The Communications and Events Manager will report to both the Executive Director of the Harvard Global Health Institute and the Senior Communications Officer in Harvard Public Affairs and Communications (HPAC) and work closely with the Institute’s staff, and in coordination with HPAC and other communications colleagues across the University. We tackle the greatest health challenges of our time through innovative transdisciplinary research, education, and partnerships that build knowledge and catalyze positive change in global health. The Harvard Global Health Institute (HGHI) is an interfaculty initiative that facilitates collaboration across the Harvard community and partners worldwide to advance global health equity.
